Past clients and examples of work
Corporate marketing and sales consultant Mark Lenthall has developed proven business recharge techniques designed to jump-start medium size businesses when growth and profitabiolity stall. The writer's job was to convince web site visitors that these innovative strategies would make success predictabe because they were based on Marks real life knowledge and practical experience.
A new website for an upmarket artisan candle maker. The client previously operated a successful online artisan candles retail site, candle school and candle making supply store, but wished to convert the business to an up-market, bricks and mortar artisan candle gallery in a prestige location, and then relaunch it with a new name without alienating existing online clients.
A real estate website designed to link Australian vendors of prestige homes and rural properties with Chinese property investors. We provided the text for the English language website which was subsequently adapted into Mandarin by a Chinese web design company.
DrumBeats are corporate team building and entertainment professionals. They were the first to introduce corporate drumming programmes to Australia, but are now widely imitated. The objective of this e-newsletter is to maintain their brand leadership position by communicating their expertise and innovative approach.
Immigate is a new business start up which opened its doors in 2012. The company is a business migration specialist working on behalf of corporate employers recruiting staff overseas and foreign nationals who wish to enter Australia on working visas. I worked closely with the owner to produce a simple site that conveys the right messages to the right audiences as strongly as possible. Simple, relevant messages and strong graphics will get the message across every time.
Paul Davis Rajalingam are structural engineers with a unique philosophy of designing 'Smart Structures' which offer innovative design concepts to solve structural problems, reduce costs or reduce construction time. A demanding and interesting writing project.
Sabine Beecher, author and social worker, has spent more than 20 years developing and proving the effectiveness of her Logical Thinking approach to correcting problems of low self esteem. She strongly believes that if her techniques were applied in schools and other environments serving young people, they could make a positive contribution to reducing Australia’s tragically high youth suicide rate. This website was written as a splash page to draw attention to her white paper on the subject and it links to her main logicalhappiness.com.au website which I also wrote.
Rubicon Point is a specialist in Corporate Reputation Management rather than conventional public relations – and the purpose of the website was to spell out the difference to prospective clients. The company offers focussed corporate communication strategies to help their clients cut through the clutter of the news media and the Internet and ensure that they are not overlooked or forgotten by their customers and potential customers.
Sigma Infotech are one of Australia’s most successful website development companies. They stand out in a crowded field not only for the quality of their web design and the solid in-house IT skills supporting their sites, but also for their businesslike approach. They wanted to communicate their strong belief that the purpose of building a website was to improve the client’s bottom line, not just to build a good looking site for its own sake.
St Helliers Review
St Helliers Construction is a leading construction company specialising in the renovation of heritage buildings (such as the old Everleigh rail workshop, now the NSW Arts Centre), as well as retail centres, hotels and office buildings. The review is sent to all their clients and contacts. I have written two issues of this publication.
Stromasys IT Case Study
An example of an Australian technical case study written for Stromasys, an international company specialising in virtual IT systems. The project required research and interviews with the Australian supplier and end user and writing the case study to an international format
The Pittwater Schools - MyHouse Web Enablement brochure
When the prestigious Pittwater Schools on Sydney’s Northern Beaches decided to take education into the digital age by introducing electronic learning and mobile access and creating a portal where every pupil and their parents would have their own password protected page, they needed a corporate brochure to introduce this ground-breaking concept to parents and pupils and gain their support. This brochure, which was very well received, was the result.
A World of Achievement
Coffey, an Australian leader in civil engineering, commissioned me to produce three annual publications for distribution to shareholders, staff and the investment market. Because Coffey's international business is so diverse - from mining engineering to environmental projects and concrete foundation design - this was a demanding project involving a lot of research.
Investor magazine MLC Limited
"Investor" was the premium MLC customer interface for many years. Because of my experience in financial advertising and communications, I wrote several issues and worked closely with the internal design department on the layout. Some articles were written by financial executives and rewritten by me, some were ghost written, and some were original articles, researched and written by myself.
Making Recycling Work
Waste recycling is a popular concept, but it is also quite a complex and technical subject. The Grocery Manufacturers wanted to show their environmental commitment in a practical way. As part of this strategy, they commissioned me to write and and supervise the design and production of this booklet. The booklet explains the technicalities of recycling in simple, user-friendly words, drawings and diagrams. The booklet was so well received that more than 30,000 were ordered for distribution to Australian schools.
Freeman Fox Freedom magazine
I was contracted to interview and write up six of their client testimonials - conducting interviews by phone around the country (plus one in Indonesia).
Award Magazine – Architectural Articles
"Award" is a professional magazine celebrating the best of contemporary Australian architecture. I have researched and written several articles for them, incorporating interviews with architects, developers, engineers and other professionals. I have written articles on the impressive Melbourne Convention Centre, the new Perth District Court building and the futuristic Parramatta Transit Interchange.
